Why is it that our kids can't stay little forever? Of course, I don't really mean that, but I am amazed at how quickly they grow. Both kiddos had doctor's appointments yesterday. Pook for her 4 year visit and Diesel for his 9 month check-up. Diesel went first and he now weighs in at 19 lbs. 14 oz. and is 28.5 inches tall. He's a growing, healthy boy with a double ear infection.
Yep, you read that right. An infection in both ears. He's inherited my family curse. The thing is you would never have known his ears were hurting him. He hasn't tugged on them or any of the normal signs. Looking back the only thing that could have tipped us off was him shaking his head no for the past couple of days. Well, that and the fact that he fell asleep in his saucer on Thursday evening while I was getting his dinner ready. Thankfully, we've now got him on antibiotics and on the road to wiping those nasty things out.
The Pookster weighs 29 lbs. and is 37.5 inches tall. She's still in the 10th percentile on the charts for her age. Developmentally (according to those sheets they have you fill out) she's in the 90th percentile for a 5.5 year old. She really is a bright child.
(I know, I know...knock off the "my child is a genius speak"...but you know that's not what I'm saying.) She had to get 3 shots and that was no fun. In true Pookster fashion, she recovered quickly and went straight for the toy box. The yo-yo was her choice of comfort this time. However, I was able to take a photo of something you never see in our house...Pook asleep at 5:30 in the afternoon, completely unprompted.
BTW, aren't sleeping baby pictures just the best?

She is so a genius. I don't mind telling it like it is.
